Adoption Process
Mandala’s main office is in Ho Chi Minh City. The children come from two provinces in Vietnam. Mandala will receive photos and a medical report to share with you. Your dossier will be in Hanoi ready for registration when a match is made. Usually a referral can be made within eight to twelve months.
Once you accept a referral, the Ministry of Justice in Hanoi reviews the dossier and sends it to the province for approval. Travel will take place four to eight months later. One trip of approximately 10 days is required. You will finalize the adoption in the province and complete the visa requirements at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi.
You will be met at the airport and guided through the entire process by our English-speaking staff. We will arrange your accommodations in both cities and you will have an opportunity to do some sightseeing while getting to know your child.
Once home, a post-placement study is required, with an annual report done by the family for eighteen years. Also, a social security number and readoption are obtained. Mandala will assist you through each step of this life adventure!
